Dr. Marjorie Rand

was a dancer and a dance/movement therapist before she became a psychotherapist and a licensed marriage and family therapist in 1976. She earned her doctoral degree in 1980 when she and Dr. Jack Rosenberg opened the Rosenberg/Rand Institute of Integrative Body Psychotherapy (now named the Central Institute of IBP).

Drs. Rosenberg and Rand published their watershed book on body psychotherapy Body, Self & Soul: Sustaining Integration in 1985.

She has studied Gestalt Therapy, Neo-Reichian Therapy, Object Relations, Self Psychology, Pre and Perinatal Psychology, and Buddhist Psychology to name a few.

Dr. Rand also co-wrote a book with Babette Rothschild, Help For The Helper: The Psychophysiology of Compassion Fatigue and Vicarious Traumatization. She has also contributed chapters to Getting in Touch: The Guide To Body- Centered Therapies, Christine Caldwell, Editor and Defining Moments For Therapists, Serge Prengel, Editor.
