People get stuck, psychologically and physically, as a result of traumatic life events or circumstances.  Stuckness translates in the body as holding or tension that uses up energy.  As a Rolfer™, I am privileged to witness profound and long-lasting changes happening, not only in my clients’ bodies, but often in their psyches as well.

Vivian Gettliffe

is a Certified RolferTM trained at the Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado, where she currently practices. She is also a Board Certified Structural Integrator and a member of the International Association of Structural Integrators. Her studies have included counseling, training in body-based trauma therapy with Rolfer and trauma therapist Darrell Sanchez, and training in the neurology of pain from the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute.

Published articles include a research survey about the psychological experiences of students receiving Rolfing structural integration (in Structural Integration: the Journal of the Rolf Institute), and an article jointly written with Darrell Sanchez entitled “Dancing with Gravity: Using the Tuning Board to Promote Vertical Embodiment Resources and Vertical Integration” (in The 2016 Yearbook of Structural Integration). Vivian’s particular interest and passion is the impact of both Rolfing structural integration and the Tuning Board on the well-being of both body and psyche, through vertical integration, and through the development of embodied resources such as grounding, centering, balance, and functional orienting.
